For more than twenty years Terry Moran has loved being the face behind the Albert Hotel. But now, Terry is ready for someone new to take it on and to make it their own.
With 40 years of living in Peterhead, Terry believes now, just as she did then, that Peterhead has a lot to shout about.
“Peterhead is a great destination to visit, we have beautiful beaches, many points of interest, dramatic skies, and a variety of independent and destination shops. Peterhead is a vibrant place, it has always been, and still is.”Terry Moran, Albert Hotel
Terry first came to Peterhead in the late 70s, tasked with making the Waterside Hotel in Peterhead a weekend destination. Coming from London City, Terry really valued what Peterhead and the surrounding area had to offer both tourist and resident. So much so, she never left.
In 2000 Peterhead’s hospitality market was very buoyant, with a high demand for accommodation. So combined the enthusiasm for what the area had to offer, Terry decided to take on the Albert Hotel and spend 22 years growing a vibrant hotel and restaurant in the heart of Peterhead.
After taking the plunge and purchasing the building and existing business, she set to work rebuilding the existing business and making a success of her business investment. Having spotted an opportunity in the market for a lighter lunchtime dining experience, a new menu was developed to provide something a little different, offering modern takes on traditional favourites, something previously lacking in the town.
The Albert Hotel attracts a variety of clients. From the contract worker and rep looking for a place to stay during their visit to the area, to visiting tourists and dining clientele. Many a Peterhead resident have celebrated their milestone birthday, anniversary, and special event within the Albert hotel. The function room within the hotel has supported numerous charitable events. Her clientele would tell you the hotel feels more like a home than a hotel and restaurant.
Over the years a loyal client base has grown, as well as a friendly community feel amongst guests. Forget Beyonce’s ‘Beyhive’s’ or Taylor Swift’s ‘Swifties’ Terry has the ‘Wrappers’, the ‘Rose Girls’ and even the ‘Mr Grumpy’, and even he can’t help but crack a smile when he visits the Albert Hotel.
Now looking for a new owner to take over the Albert hotel, Terry Moran welcomes interested parties to step forward.
